Next week is time of, and we have the story down, and assignments more or less ready, everyone is eager to start working on the film (sitting and planning/talking dosen't give imediate results, so I guess people have trouble feeling that they have actually done something, anyway.

Story: we decided that the end of the world wasn't a lokal event, and wanted to show more than one place, we ended up with India, Italia, Savana, Japan, and USA as our referance to the diffirent places... as it wasn't important that the story was at any of theese points, we wanted the actuall place to be "secret" and up to where people interped it (If someone thought it was their backyard... that would be cool)

Our story started to take shape, we also had a group ready, 4 persons, 1 private floter, and 2 maybe.
We now knew what we wanted to to with the story, but the details wasn't done yet.
Story: Kid alone in pre-doom senario.
Why: I have always felt that stories that have a sad ending gives more of an impact... might be a wierd reason, and I have no explenation to it.

We are soon to be finished with this project, and I'm starting to think back.
It's X weeks since we started on this project, and a lot has happened since then.
I'm going to go through the weeks, one at a time and try to think of things in retrospect. If I remember everything.
I'll go through each week in the next couple of posts. I'll skip the weeks we had time of or nothing of real importance happened.
After that I will give an impression on how the different methods, and 3. party solutions was to work with.
Anyway, I'm going to post the different "Happenings" and I'm starting of with the end of week one.

Last thursday, we decided on some changes to our script, to make sure that we could make the dead line, and while we where on the subject of changes, we could also make our story more clear then it was. Let's face it, it was quite confusing.

I have started my animation work, working on a running cycle until I get some more scenes ready.

I know this is suppose to be a reflective journal, but it's much easier to write about right now. So I'll start with right now.

We are just about to start the animating proses, and I'm looking forward to it. I have spent most of yesterday (after our group meeting) realizing that there aren't to many good free rigs. Unless you want' to make a T-rex. Got a tips about CAT (character animation toolkit) that adobe seem to have bought up, so it's no longer free, and hard to get a earlier version. So I guess that they have restricted access to it as much as they could. In theory I guess it's a good rig, as it has some cool features I have no idea what are, it makes me curious.
Anyway, working on some animation now... just started, so I don't have any video, but I will post some when I'm "done".

Now the thinking back part, I just now saw that I had a journal post from some weeks back that was saved in "Drafts" and was never published, oops. At least I have made that mistake now, and will be keen on it in the future.
I should have slept more back then (I guess), hard to concentrate when you are tired (discreet transition to concentration). On the other hand, when you can't concentrate you are either distracted or creative. so I hope there came something good or at least inspiring out of it.

Summary: Animating=good, Sleep-depraved=m bad.

Only a few days behind schedule, but still, a few days behind. we where suppose to start with the animation yesterday, but some minor setbacks made sure that the animation work we can do is limited until Monday. I handed out some assignments based on what we had available, some to fix the problem, and the rest is researching things we weren't sure of. I still feel in control of this, and hope it will stay that way trough the hole project.

I'm thinking back. 3 weeks ago we tried a system for handing out assignments, 3D models and scenes was arranged in a list with a time set to them, so everyone fill their own time by picking the assignments they needed to fill their week. I feel it worked pretty well, I didn't remember to write everything in the list, but the missing pieces was made just after they where "remembered".

Ok. It's time for that final project.
Actually we started "officially" last week Monday. I'm working with 5 other guys on a Idea I had. (people of Sacrō)
My role is more or less the leader, but we run a controlled democracy.

The film we are working on is about the end of the world, but only the last couple of minutes... about a hour to 10 minutes after everyone got the end-of-the-world message.
Everything will be more or less deserted, and we will show this "world" following one of more 8 year old boys trying to figure out where everyone have gone to.
