Final project.

We have started our last project this year, It's in the Sacro "tab"

Ideas for my "final" project

Ok, we are soon starting on our final project, and we all had to come up with 2 ideas for this.
My first idea was to work on the project I worked on last year. We where 5 people that made a modded map for Unreal tournament 3. There was a long story behind this mod, and I didn't feel like we got any of it through. not important at that time, but now I have chance to tell some of that story. It will basically be the prequel to a war between Cyberpunks and Mages. Technology users vs Magic users.
I haven't gotten the password and login to the file-zilla server our work was stored, but if I get it there will be models I can use. (I have permission from the creators)
I would love to make this realistic, but our idea at the time was something in between. Like Fable 2.
(the picture is more or less how the magic town would look.)

My other Idea was a Rube Goldberg machine. Haven't given this one much thought though, but I figured I'd mention it. I might even use havoc, but I'm not to sure if it will be entertaining for 3 minutes.

My last idea was a cat and a dog, fighting over the owners attention. And even though I'm a cat person, the dog should win, as cats are depicted as gates to hell, and dogs are "Man's best friend".
I haven't decided on a style, but this should be cartoony, as it will be aimed for kids. hm... cel shaded could fit.

New delivery, New post.

This time we did some stuff that was new to me. We wrote a Treatment (at least I think I did), made a storyboard, and a animatic. Here is a taste of my treatment. (It's in Norwegian)

I don't have any pictures of our storyboard, but here is the animatic.

New Oblig delivery.

This time it was 1. 3. and 4. at the same time, that collectively was called Digital acting.
1. was a lift animation
Assignment was lifting a heavy object, not quite sure I managed to capture that part, but I think it's closer to how you would move your body when you found out that a small object was heavier that expected.

2. was lipsync and when I found the sound clip it nearly made itself, I had fun working with this one.
I'm suppose to talk about my choices in this clip, but I started with the jaw, and added stuff until I felt it told more of a story than just lip sync. But 2 things I can mention, he is tilting his head, in the middle there it got kind of motionless, and boring. By tilting the head I was aiming to add some movement, and a sort of thinking look. And in the end, a "I did good?" smile. this was just to once again point out, that this guy have no idea of what he actually have done.

3. Full body animation.
Now it gets more interesting, trying to get the lips and the body to do as planed.
I knew I wanted a sort of commercial, and I got a "sort of" commercial. At first I planed to animate this more "serious" and have just "hanging out" (that's enough quotation marks for today), but after hearing through it a couple of times I decided to work on a different approach. I made it in to a amateur commercial, and tried to point this out by making the actors stand mostly still (not entirely as that looks a bit odd) and look into the camera amongst other things.

First Oblig

This are some of the accessory models for a character we had to design.
I will not post my drawing, it's not to good, but hopefully you should get a picture based on the models.

The Pen

Picture
It's not clear on the picture, but on the writing end of this "pen" you can almost see the USB-mini.

A foot

Picture
It's one of it's feets, no textures

The last model was of a lockpick set, but the 150kb picture was to big for this site.

Now, any guess on what my character designed was? the answer is on the bottom of this page.

Some Posing exercise.

The idea was that the poses should be extreme enough, that the picture alone would be enough for people to understand what that character is going through. I wouldn't say that I'm completely happy with the "standing" one. (To the people who aren't familiar with the model, that isn't my model, it's a rig from the Internet, I'm guessing that most 3D students have used or at least seen it)

Time to do some serious schooling

First day at school. (technically)
My groups "Oblig 4" assignment from 2 years ago, It's all a bit dark on youtube, not sure why.
BTW: our group was called Hawkbot.
ANSWER: A Shape shifting spy in a modern world that don't believe in fairytales. Of course.
